How spirituality can be as simple as finding your inner light.
Discovering your Inner Light
Connecting to Your Spirit
I am aware that beliefs, faith and spirituality are personal subjects, and it is not my intention to declare anything. What I share are the findings of my own personal story and they might or might not resonate with you; and that’s okay.
I’ve come across many great teachers over the years, whose works had a profound impact on me, for example:
The Sound of Life's Unspeakable Beauty by Martin Schleske
Real Life by Sharon Salzberg
Handbook for Hard Times by Geelong Thubten
A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson
Speaking with Spirit by Agapi Stassinopoulos
My background is protestant / christian, and my current tendency goes towards Buddhist psychology. No matter your beliefs, I hope you’ll find that when you come back to your heart centre, there is love and light and hope waiting for you.
I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin to flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to, but the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that as long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.

How to capture ‘Real Life’
Real life can mean many different things and, much like happiness, it can be confusing where to find it. What does ‘real life’ mean to you? I invite you to close your eyes and let this question linger with you for a moment. What thoughts come up, what feelings? When did you last time feel truly alive?
When I catch a moment of real life, my soul glimmers with joy, love, awe and gratefulness.
It’s like I’m connected to my most inner part of being, and I sense the energy and light that reside in this space; it feels pure and sacred and there seems to be no need.
In this tiny moment of existence I get a glimpse at what I believe is part of who I am – a spiritual being in a living world.
Our ability to experience awe can at times seem hard to access. We might look at something beautiful, like the setting of the sun and we can see and acknowledge the wonder in front of our eyes, but does it reach our heart? It is in the opening of our heart that we can experience a deeper connection to life, and sometimes it needs making an active choice to allow being disrupted, to stop whatever we are currently doing and to tune into the present moment.
What if I decide to be fully present in this moment and allow myself to see, to feel?
What am I thinking, experiencing, feeling?
We can go through life and our every day, feeling fine and doing whatever it is that’s on our to-do list, without ever having to dive that deep. And it’s not like we have to be fully present all the time, but if you experience life like going through the motions, simply getting on with things, trying to avoid expecting too much, fighting negative voices inside your head, and feeling burdened by stress, then I invite you to go on a new journey from constriction to expansion and freedom. Discovering that inner light of yours that is there to remind you, that you are loved, that you are worthy, that you are enough.
And from this space of greater inner freedom we can grow in becoming more accepting of ourselves and of others, letting go of fear, of limiting beliefs and lean into who we might be able to become.
