Connecting to Your Body

When I talk about movement, I’m referring to a form of movement that allows you to tune into the sensations of your body and honouring your body while you do so.

Your body is a gift, and you might like it or not, but it has been with you from the beginning; and there is no other body that you know better, and that in turn knows you.

When we begin to replace criticism and judgement with gratitude and thankfulness, we allow connection to happen; and where is softness there is openness. What emerges is a state of healing – as it is through love that we are willing to change.

This is one of the reasons why yoga plays such an integral part in my journey of connection. Yoga combines physical practice and the opportunity to tune into how you feel. It allows you to take timeout from whatever else is going on, and you can just quickly say hi to yourself, check in how you’re feeling, honour your body by taking care of it, and experience a moment of rest and relaxation.

What’s good to know is, that you don’t need to be flexible or strong to get started. You are on your own journey, and whenever you step on your yoga mat, you simply give yourself the gift of creating a little bit more openness; and that will make you feel so much better.
